You'll find all sorts of weird and wonderful goods in ALDI's middle aisle - but one children's product has raised eyebrows and left shoppers divided over its 'inappropriate' design. Parents in Australia have been warned to check twice before buying kids' toys from the supermarket, as a new plushie has made waves online due to its regrettable pocket placement. The toy in question is a plushie of a brown and white dog, which is a part of a range of similarly designed animals in a variety of colours, such as a green dinosaur and purple penguin.

However, many social media users have observed the unfortunate placement of a bone in its front 'pocket' - which happens to be located in the lower area of its body. One stunned shopper took to Reddit earlier this month to showcase a photo of the plushie after stumbling across it whilst shopping in their local store. Posting the image to r/Australia on 3 February, the Redditor, known as u/DisastrousStudio1, attached a tongue-in-cheek caption that reads: 'Hey ALDI I feel like this is bad product design.'.

The photo shows the brown-coloured bone protruding out to the side of the toy dog's square pocket. Dozens of Redditors took to the comments, where some criticised the supermarket for 'overlooking' the design during the manufacturing process, while others poked fun at the suggestive bone placement. A new children's plushie sold at ALDI has made waves online due to its regrettable pocket placement. One person joked: 'I feel like they added the pouch as an after thought and figured they got away with it.'.

Another Redditor argued: 'Nah, its a great design, its even got a pouch for "nuts."'. One horrified person wrote, 'I can't unsee it,' as another commented, 'Someone's getting fired...'. A third said: 'I can't believe no one thought "hmm, potentially inappropriate" at any point in the design process.'. Responding, the Redditor who posted the photo wrote: 'That's honestly one of the funniest bits because U know that went through Multiple people to approve.'.

Meanwhile, bemused Redditor announced: 'I walked straight out and bought one as soon as I saw this.'. Describing the product, they added: 'It gets better. The bone is open at the bottom like a finger puppet.'. Finally, one Reddit remarked: 'It's ALDI? Then they 100% knew what they were doing.'. FEMAIL has contact ALDI Australia for further comment. Elsewhere in Australia, a collection of stickers sold online depicting characters from Bluey in army camouflage and armed with guns has caused an online backlash.

The stickers show Bluey driving a ute, with her younger sister sitting on heavy weaponry mounted in the back. Other stickers depict Bluey's parents, Bandit and Chilli, as well as her grandfather Mort, in army fatigues, all holding rifles. The stickers, designed by 'We Few,' were sold on the online sticker marketplace Valor Vinyls. The widespread online backlash prompted Valor Vinyls to swiftly remove the designs from its website early in February.
