Apple originally introduced Apple Intelligence only for US English. Apple has regularly stated what languages its Apple Intelligence will support over the course of 2025, but it has now confirmed which ones are coming in April. Right at its launch, Apple said that Apple Intelligence would initially require US English, but then would expand to many other languages. While it later listed a selection of those, Apple has now stated which ones are coming next.

Specifically, in a note on its iPhone 16e launch press release, Apple says that:. The notice then goes on to say that "more languages [are] coming over the course of the year." With the exception of Vietnamese, however, Apple has not said which further languages these will be.

Given the April date, it's now likely that the new languages for Apple Intelligence will arrive with iOS 18.4. That release has yet to enter beta testing, however, and at present the latest public release is iOS 18.3. Apple has always been strong on localizing iOS and all its operating systems to suit different locations. In the case of Apple Intelligence, however, the task is more complex because it can require collaboration with other firms, as it has in France, and more controversially, also in China.
