Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol headline a bumper bill of boxing in Riyadh tonight as they contest a rematch of their undisputed light-heavyweight title fight at the Kingdom Arena. It is only four months since the Russian duo first clashed at the same venue, Beterbiev claiming a controversial majority decision to complete the full set of titles in the 175-pound division for the first time in the four-belt era.
But Bivol and his camp were left seething at the result amid an appeal against the scoring and for an immediate rematch. Now the pressure will very much be on for the former WBA champion to gain revenge as the climax to a stacked card that many have described as arguably the best ever seen in the sport’s history, though an ill Daniel Dubois will no longer defend his IBF heavyweight title with Joseph Parker set to face Martin Bakole instead.
