The 30-year-old star was a notable omission from the squad for the recent Manchester derby. Kennedy took to social media to say farewell to the club, expressing gratitude for the friendships she had formed during her time there. 'I am leaving with a lot of amazing memories,' Kennedy wrote on Instagram.

Kennedy will say goodbye to her English club and good friend Mary Fowler (pictured together playing for the Matildas). 'It has been a privilege to play alongside you all and I wish you all of the continued success for the rest of the season and beyond.'.
Manchester City also confirmed the move, thanking the Aussie for her efforts and wishing her luck in the States. Meanwhile, Fowler has been in great form for City, scoring two excellent goals in a loss to cross-town rivals United earlier this month. She'll be on international duty for the Matildas when they take part in the SheBelieves Cup in the US for the first time.
