The Strictly Come Dancing star, 62, was presenting a Christmas segment from Covent Garden when a man wearing reindeer antlers appeared from off-camera and planted a kiss on her cheek. However, moments after Carol was caught unawares by the unexpected kiss she reassured viewers the man in question was her ‘good friend’ and colleague Tim.

On Christmas Eve, Carol was discussing festivities as fake snow rained around her in central London as she spoke to Sally Nugent and Roger Johnson from the studio. Carol, who was wearing mistletoe, then complained the plant, which is associated with kissing over Christmas, ‘hasn’t done any tricks this morning’ before Tim ran in for a surprise kiss and hug.
