A FACE OFF between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn has been CANCELLED at the last-minute after chaotic egg slap scenes. The born rivals traded verbal jabs in Manchester on Tuesday to officially launched their April 26 middleweight grudge match. But Eubank caused bedlam after he smashed an egg into Benn's face - sparking a mass brawl on stage.

Both teams, including Benn's dad Nigel and promoter Eddie Hearn were left raging on stage as security desperately kept the pair apart. The sons of British legends will meet again tomorrow at Tottenham - the scene of the pay-per-view fight - for another heated press conference.

But a sit down face off to promote the fight - scheduled for today - has now been scrapped amid security concerns. Eubank's dad Chris Sr and Benn's father Nigel share one of the nation's most fierce rivalries. Eubank Sr won the 1990 original before escaping with a controversial draw at Old Trafford three years later.

More than three decades on and their boys were ready to do battle in October 2022. But the 157lb catchweight clash was dramatically axed after Benn failed two doping tests. The unbeaten welterweight tested positive for clomifene - a banned substance known to boost testosterone.
Benn had his British Board of Boxing Control license removed while he was investigated. He has since had his provisional ban lifted by UK Anti-Doping. One theory behind his failed test infamously shared by the World Boxing Council was a high intake of egg consumption.
