Davide Sanclimenti has pleaded fans to stop their horrific abuse as he moves on from ex Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. The Love Island star shared the vile and disturbing messages he has been sent on social media since debuting his new romance. He shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show with Ekin-Su, also 30, and they went on to win the show together. They carried on their romance outside the villa yet had a rocky time that ultimately ended in heartbreak.
Davide and Ekin-Su announced their break-up last year, with both of them now moving on. Ekin-Su re-entered the Love Island villa and has grown close to Curtis Pritchard and Davide has found love with girlfriend Iris. Despite the former couple being happy in new relationships, some followers have taken it upon themselves to bash hate at Davide over his new romance. Davide shared screenshots of the disgusting messages he has been sent including: "HAHAHA GO DIE!! Hard launching your b**** GF because [Ekin-Su] is back on All Stars impeccable timing." Another wrote: "Davide who? [Ekin-Su] is the real star, always winning." Someone else commented to Davide: "Success is proof that she doesn't need anyone to shine.".
Other horrific messages branded Davide "misogynistic", "ugly", "not loved" and an "immigrant". One social media user even said: "Not stopping until you are destroyed!!" Davide bravely shared screenshots of the messages and issued a plea to the people issuing the abuse. He urged: "Guys this harassment needs to end. It's been a year. I'm finally happy and wish the best for my ex but the obsession, bullying and bots is uncalled for. Need to stop. You need to focus your energy on positive things. I am trying to enjoy my holiday in peace. I don't need drama. Please accept life moves on.".
Davide is currently on a romantic getaway in Hawaii with girlfriend Iris for a Valentine's break. He has shared stunning photos from their resort as they celebrated the day of love together with a rose petal covered bed and swanky meal. On Valentine's Day, Davide shared a loved up post about Iris as he opened up on their relationship for the first time. In his post, Davide wrote: "Happy Valentine’s Day to the most romantic woman I’ve ever met. Since being with you, I learned what a “monthsary” is. You’re the most kind and genuine person. We were supposed to meet as friends, but from that first 'friendly date,' we’ve been inseparable. I loved that you didn’t know who I was. You love deeply because you’ve been through a lot, and that made me want to protect you.
"Thank you for believing in me, for bringing out my best, and for being someone who pushes me to grow." He appeared to add subtle shade to his ex, as Davide added: "True love is wonderful because it doesn’t destroy you. I know we met for a reason and I’m glad we’re healing each other. We don’t have to be together—we choose each other every day. To us.". Iris also shared a gushing post as she commented: "I can’t believe I met someone who’s been through similar stages, situations, and traumas. Even though you’re misunderstood, I know you have the kindest heart. I love that even when world is against us and everything is going wrong, we always manage to stay silly, positive, and funny. Thank you for your loyalty, support, and most importantly for healing me. I’m thankful for you every day. I love my handsome Happy first Valentine’s!".
Cracks started to appear for Davide and Ekin-Su when he was filmed allegedly leaving a bash with two blonde ladies. Ekin-Su later claimed Davide cheated on her. She tried to move past the betrayal by focusing on her projects, which included taking part in Big Brother, that didn't go so well. Ekin-Su decided to give reality TV another go and has made it to the Love Island All Stars final with Curtis.
