San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel admitted that losing the Super Bowl left him slumping into depression. The wide receiver, 28, has reached the pinnacle of the NFL on two occasions in recent seasons with the Niners but has failed to lift the Lombardi Trophy every time.
And the wideout descried the pain of losing the big game as one of the worst feelings he has ever endured. 'Not gonna lie, losing the Super Bowl, it puts you in depression,' Samuel said during a guest appearance on The St. Brown Podcast. 'You go months without talking to people, wanting to be seen... Losing the Super Bowl is one of the worst feelings ever.
'Think about it in our position. We just went through camp, we just went through the whole season, and we got here, we lose, and now you back to work in three weeks. And you're about to do it all over again. Losing the Super Bowl is crazy. I lost in the Super Bowl twice to the same team.'.
San Francisco most recently suffered heartbreak last February when they missed out on glory in an agonizing overtime loss at the hands of back-to-back champions the Kansas City Chiefs. San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel has lost the Super Bowl twice in 2024 (L) and 2020 (R).
