EastEnders fans are predicting a distressing storyline ahead for Lily Slater, following Martin Fowler's tragic death. Lily last saw her adopted father Martin on the night of the Queen Vic explosion. As Lily escaped the Vic, Martin went back to help her mother Stacey, who was trapped, later leading to his untimely death.

As the Sqaure grieves, Lily told her mother Stacey that she wanted to be involved with the planning of Martin's funeral. As Stacey agreed, the pair headed over to Ruby's alongside Sonia Fowler. Previously, Lily had been seen snapping at Ruby as the two clashed over funeral decisions.

Later on, Lily overheard Stacey telling Eve about her last conversation with Martin, where he told Stacey he loved her, not Ruby. As Lily came into the room with tears in her eyes, Stacey made Lily promise the secret would never come out to Ruby. Due to the traumatic events of Martin's deaths, fans are now predicting a devastating bipolar storyline for Lily, as viewers have previously seen with her mother Stacey and grandmother Jean. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: "This is definitely going to trigger Lily’s bipolar just like Brian’s death triggered Jean’s and Danielle’s death triggered Stacey’s. #Eastenders," as another agreed: "I can see them doing a bipolar storyline with Lily soon #EastEnders".

In devastating scenes in 2022, Jean was heard telling Lily she saw the signs of bipolar in her, leaving her in shock. After, the young mother was seen taking one of her grandmother's tablets. Recalling the moment, one user penned: "I think we're close to seeing Lily's bipolar episode as Jean said she saw it in her and she then got lithium poisoning because she took the bipolar medication.".

Another recalled: "Remember when Lily thought she had bipolar after Jean's manic episode in Southend. The fact that Lily is a mother just like Stacey too makes her even more vulnerable. I'm just glad that Stacey and Lily have each other. #EastEnders.".

"All I know is that Lillia Turner is a fantastic actress and she's gonna smash this storyline whatever happens," said another. EastEnders fans are set for more emotional scenes, as first-look pictures show what's to come during Martin's funeral. James Bye, who plays Martin in the BBC soap, will say goodbye to Walford in style with flowers spelling out "daddy" in the funeral carriage, as the procession passes through the Square. A photo of the character can also be seen, as covers have been drawn across the fruit and veg stall.
