The elite south London private school where Jude Law, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Pixie Geldof were educated is to expand north of the river for the first time in its 400 year history. The £10,000 a term Alleyn’s School in Dulwich - founded by Edward Alleyn in 1619 - has teamed up with private education group Cognita to launch offshoots in Regent’s Park and Hampstead.
Alleyn’s Regent’s Park opens in September 2025 for children aged 4 to 13, while Alleyn’s Hampstead opens in September 2026 for children aged 2 to 18. The expansion is announced weeks after Labour slapped VAT on private school fees for the first time increasing costs for parents by up to 20%.
Both new schools will adopt Alleyn’s curriculum including its digital and ethical skills programme the AiQ. The partnership will see North Bridge House Regent’s Park Preparatory School become Alleyn’s Regent’s Park, while North Bridge House School Hampstead will open a Junior section in addition to its Nursery, Pre-prep, Senior and Sixth Form divisions, to become Alleyn’s Hampstead.
Cognita will also be investing in the renovation of the Hampstead and Regent’s Park school campuses, including the provision of a new pastoral care centre ‘The Well’ and tech studios for the provision of the AiQ. Jane Lunnon, Head at Alleyn’s School said: “We are thrilled to be expanding north of the river with the opening of Alleyn’s Regent’s Park and Alleyn’s Hampstead.
“Both schools already have an incredible energy and commitment to developing the mind and heart of every child with creativity, aspiration and joy. Each child’s entire school experience will reflect Alleyn’s ‘All We Can Be’ ethos and we’re delighted to welcome them to the new Alleyn’s Schools Group.".
"Children at Alleyn’s Regent’s Park and Alleyn’s Hampstead will benefit from our holistic approach to education. This includes our ‘Aspiring Minds’ academic enrichment programme, our pastoral skills programme, ‘the AEQ’ and our values-based cocurricular and partnership programme ‘All In’.
"We will also be sharing our ethical and practical tech curriculum, the AiQ – a pioneering course which explores the powerful and exciting connections between traditional IQ and AI. It develops an ethical, technical and creative understanding of AI and teaches our students how to flourish and adapt AI tools for lasting good.".
