Enzo Maresca has once again publicly urged “immediate” improvement from Chelsea winger Noni Madueke despite his key role in the win over Wolves. The England international delivered a bright display at Stamford Bridge on Monday night as the Blues rallied in the second half to end a five-match winless run in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over relegation battlers that took them back into the top four, heading home the third goal on the line after Trevoh Chalobah’s effort after also providing a brilliant cross for Marc Cucurella to notch the second.

Madueke was undoubtedly one of Chelsea’s best performers on the night against Wolves, though his decision-making in the final third was still subject to some scrutiny by fans and pundits alike. Back in December, Maresca claimed that Madueke could do “much more” in order to secure a regular place in his starting lineup and said he was not happy with his efforts in training.

"Noni can do much more,” the Chelsea boss said after Madueke had scored in the 5-1 win over Southampton, only his second goal since August that came after he had previously been dropped. “He can do much more. The moment he starts to score or assist and is happy, he starts to drop a little bit and the reason why he was not playing is because I do not like the way he trained.
