Home Alone's Buzz McCallister looks a world away from his days on the Christmas classic. Buzz, played by Devin Ratray, now 47, was Kevin McCallister's older brother and delivered iconic lines including: "I’m going to feed you to my tarantula.". Since shooting to fame in Home Alone alongside Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin, Devin - who was 13 when he made his acting debut in the festive flick - stuck with the film's franchise and starred in Lost in New York in 1992. Years later, he reprised his Buzz role in 2021’s Home Alone 6, titled Home Sweet Home Alone.
Outside of the franchise, Devin landed roles in dozens of films like Dennis the Menace (1993), The Prince and Me (2004) and R.I.P.D. (2013). He also appeared in multiple television shows, including 2017’s Mosaic and The Tick. Additionally, Devin also voiced pedestrians for the mega popular 2018 action-adventure video game, Red Dead Redemption 2. His latest latest acting roles were in 2022, having appeared in an episode of Better Call Saul and the film Kimi.
Now sporting a a ginger goatee beard and standing at 6 ft 1 tall, the star is unrecognisable from his Home Alone days, however Devin does reflect back on the film with pride on Instagram. Still living in his birthplace of New York City as of 2024, Devin continues to post life updates on his Instagram account, despite taking a step back from acting. The NYC native also often remembers his big break in Home Alone via throwback photos. “Coming home off the plane from shooting Home Alone,” he captioned an old headshot shared on August 16, 2024. “Just turned 13.” Devin later shared a photo from the first Home Alone movie on September 11, 2024, adding the caption, “Throwback Wednesday.”.
