An easy to make chocolate bark has gone viral and is perfect for a low cost Christmas present. The bark is made by filling a baking tray with two milk chocolate blocks, two dark chocolate and two white chocolate. You then melt the chocolate in the oven before swirling it together to make a pattern and add your favourite toppings like nuts, dried fruit and marshmallows.

Next you put the chocolate creation in the fridge to chill for an hour and then break it into bark pieces. Content creator and professional makeup artist Nikkia Joy shared her take on the viral chocolate bark on Instagram. She captioned the reel: “The viral holiday chocolate bark is back. Believe me when I say you will watch your family fight over this at Christmas.” Nikkia mentioned that she first saw Laura Lee create this chocolate bark.

Nikkia’s Instagram reel has had an incredible 2.8 million views and 12,000 likes. Several people commented “yum” when reacting to the post. Several called for Nikki to share her recipe and one Instagram user said: “I really want to try this.” Another added: “This looks amazing! Going to try it this holiday season” and a third commented: “Great idea, so simple.”.

Some were worried about the cost of the ingredients as one Instagram user claimed: “That would be about $40 worth of chocolate at the moment in Australia - you’d need to take out a second mortgage”. However, this chocolate bark can easily be made using ingredients from any supermarket and to save even more you can use supermarket branded chocolate bars instead of brands like Cadbury’s or Lindt.
