According to the brunette stunner, who claimed to haven't washed her face in a whopping two years, she swears by honey - yes, you heard that right. Experts have said that raw honey is packed with components beneficial for your skin, especially if you have acne or autoimmune skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis, Healthline reported. Raw honey is also a natural exfoliator, which means that applying it to your face removed dry, dull skin and reveals a new glow underneath.
Raving about the purse-friendly buy, Candice told her 101k followers that by ditching regular face wash for the more natural approach has ''healed'' her skin. ''This what it used to look like - super oily, with a bunch of clogged pores,'' she said, sharing a snap of her face before the at-home treatment.
She went on in the informative clip: ''Our skin produces its own natural oils called sebum, which is there to maintain a healthy skin moisture barrier and it's also antibacterial. ''But when we're washing our face in the morning and at night, and just using overall harsh generic skincare, we're completely stripping our skin of its moisture.
''So to counteract that, it's gonna produce even more sebum - and that's what's going to give us that oily look,'' said Candice who noted that sebum isn't the issue - it's the overproduction of it. Instead of sticking to regular high street skincare, the thrifty beauty buff swears by raw honey which she applies to her face a few times a week.
This, she told fellow social media users, will work wonders to ''draw moisture into the skin'' and has great antibacterial properties. Once done, she will rinse her face with water and complete the routine by applying beef tallow to moisturise - one of the latest beauty trends to take the internet by storm.
