Charlotte Tilbury is a brand that claims it cannot be duped, but Primark has given it a go. So one make-up artist from the coveted brand has compared the real deal to the much cheaper versions. Primark make-up is loved by many thanks to the fact that many of the products deliver results, but they're also cheaper than most brands, let alone designer ones.
But when Charlotte Tilbury make-up artist Victoria Grace took to TikTok to show people half a face of Primark and half of CT, she was less than impressed with some of the budget products she picked up. She applied the budget products while filming herself, so people could make the judgement call as to whether they wanted to try them out for themselves.
First, she started with the original Magic Cream and the Primark dupe. She said: "As you know, Magic Cream is amazing for your skin - it hydrates, it primes and protects. It's just so nice, I love it. However, the Primark side did not prime, did not protect, but it did hydrate; I'll give her that one". The original Magic Cream costs £79 for 50ml, compared to Primark's £6 offering, however.
Next, she moved on to eyeliner, and she said that the pigment was not the "same" from each product. "It still worked well for the price of it," Victoria admitted. Then, it was time for mascara, where she said it "wasn't giving anything" for her, saying she prefers "long voluptuous lashes". She didn't feel like the Primark mascara she'd chosen did the job – but again, she thought "it wasn't bad for the price".
