A MUM-OF-ONE shared the reasons why she's decided to start a new life in Southeast Asia with her family. The rising costs have forced many to rethink whether they want to stay in the UK - and amongst them is also Diana Auria who recently relocated to Singapore with her partner and son, four.

Diana, who was born and raised in Kent, recently made the brave move to embark on a new chapter abroad, after growing frustrated of the quality of life in the UK. Some of her reasons to pack the bags and hop on the plane included the skyrocketing costs, with the ''digital nomad'' dubbing the UK a ''rip-off''.

According to the mum, who jetted off to Southeast Asia earlier this year, a 35min train journey to London would cost her an eye-watering £40 and they barely had any disposable income left once the bills were taken care off. The mum also didn't view the UK a great option for bringing up children.
She explained in her video: ''It's too cold or rainy most of the year to be outside, so end up just staying indoors and watching screens. ''Not many places are kid-friendly,'' said Diana, adding that days-out are also costly. As well as complaining about the ''awful'' weather and the gloomy winters which man people ''depressed'', thee mum-of-one was also tired from the skyrocketing housing crisis.
''Houses are really old, need major renovation, building costs are so much now, or these new builds are made of cardboard and have tiny box rooms.''. Listing her reasons of why the family decided to swap the UK for the sunny Singapore, Diana said that constantly ''hearing about all the awful things happening'' here was another major factor.
''Mobile phone theft, knife crime and gang wars in London. Grooming gangs all over the country,'' she listed. These, as well as the above, Diana reckoned, give the UK a ''negative'' atmosphere. She explained: ''Feels like there is no hope, no innovation, no job prospects, no wage increases - people are deflated.''.
Since being posted on TikTok, the clip has racked up close to 340k views and over 2,000 comments - and it seems that most people could resonate with Diana. One expat said: ''Left 5 years ago....wish I had left when I was in my 20s. The world is a beautiful place.
Brexit means British citizens now have to apply for visas to move to countries within the EU. While some countries residency restrictions are easier than others, here's what you need to do at home before moving:. ''You don't realise how bad people in the UK have it until you move.''.
Someone else chimed in: ''I'm hopefully moving to Southern Spain next year for all the same reasons. This country has had it.''. A third wrote: ''You are not the only one I’ve heard this from. Honestly I’m happy in America - I feel so blessed.''. However, there were also a few who felt like the UK has its benefits, which Diana might be struggling to see.
One mum said: ''All of these things exist in the U.S. but worse. ''I’m in Texas and with climate change it’s 100+ degrees out for like six months out of the year. Can’t go outside and play in that.''. ''We have just came back from Dubai….. no comment as a family of 5 not all that glitters is gold,'' another mum shared her experience.
