Newcastle are looking to keep up their fine form on Wednesday night when they host struggling Wolves at St James’ Park. Eddie Howe’s side have won their last five league matches and eight in all competitions, including victories over the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and Aston Villa.

The form of Alexander Isak has been a huge part of that run, with the Swedish striker scoring 10 goals in his last nine matches. Wolves are looking for an upturn in results under new boss Vitor Pereira, coming into this match 17th in the Premier League, only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Their last league match saw them beaten 3-0 at home by Nottingham Forest, but they did pick up an FA Cup win at Bristol City last time out. Wolves do not have a great record against Newcastle, with just one win in their last 11 meetings. The clash earlier this season ended in a 2-1 win for the Magpies at Molineux in September.
The match kicks off at 7.30pm at St James’ Park on Wednesday 15 January. TNT Sports 3 will be showing the game live, with streaming available on Discovery+. There have been doubts hanging over a number of Newcastle players, but the in-form Isak, Jacob Murphy, Joe Willock and Sven Botman are all expected to be involved.
