WE all want glowing skin without spending a fortune on expensive skincare products. But for many, that seems almost impossible - especially when we've grown up believing that pricey creams and serums are a must. However, one woman discovered the secret to glass skin after moving to Japan - and it didn’t involve splurging on high-end beauty products. Sharing her experience on Instagram, she revealed that after relocating, she was amazed by how effortlessly flawless everyone's skin was.

“Everybody in Japan has glass skin, even though skincare products are barely sold at pharmacies and grocery stores,” she explained. Curious, she decided to ask her neighbor how this was possible. “And she told me that everyone has healthy skin because they use shower filters. “So I got one for myself and now my skin has never looked better.”. Shower filters can be easily found online, with some available on Amazon for as little as £12.04.

One popular option is the YEAUPE High-Pressure Shower Head with Filter, which features six spray modes, a pressure-boosting design, and built-in filtration to combat hard water. This rainfall-style showerhead uses air pressure technology to enhance water flow, making it a great choice for homes with low water pressure. Plus, its anti-limescale design helps prevent buildup, ensuring easy maintenance and a better shower experience.

Not only could a shower filter improve your skin, but it might also save water - making it a win-win investment. We previously revealed how a woman left beauty enthusiasts in disbelief after revealing she’s much older than she appears. Pamela, known as Aunty Pamela on social media, is 73 years old, but her youthful appearance is credited to a straightforward skincare habit. In a popular TikTok video, the skincare devotee shared her secret to maintaining such a youthful look at 73 – and the best part is, it’s affordable.

"I can count on my fingers the nights I've gone to bed without makeup," she said, adding that she was "drunk on every single one of those.". While it may sound simple, the anti-ageing expert insists that consistently removing her makeup has been a game-changer. "You just take care of your skin every night, it adds up over the years," she said in the clip. Face The Future's Head of Clinic, Kimberley Medd, shared the five skincare trends predicted to take off in 2025.

1. Exosomes. Exosomes are the buzzword for 2025, taking advanced skin regeneration to new heights. These micro-messengers signal skin cells to repair damage, boost collagen, and accelerate recovery, and they’re a gamechanger for targeting ageing. 2. Streamlined Skincare. The age of 12-step routines is fading as consumers shift to more intentional, multi-functional products. Streamlining skincare not only saves time but also reduces the risk of overloading your skin. In 2025, we’ll see a rise in hybrid products that combine active ingredients for simplified, effective results.

3. Vegan Collagen. Plant-based collagen will dominate the skincare world this year, providing a sustainable, ethical alternative to traditional animal-derived collagen. Expect vegan collagen in everything from moisturisers to serums. 4. The Rise Of AI. AI is revolutionising the beauty landscape, making it possible for consumers to get truly personalised skincare solutions. In 2025, we predict a dramatic shift towards AI-powered tools that help people understand their skin on a deeper level.
