An Australian mum-of-two has sent shoppers into a frenzy after boasting about an affordable $49 tote bag from Kmart Australia. Halley, from Perth, was amazed by the pricetag and versatility of the PU Weekender Bag, which she compared to $500 baby bags.

The stand-out feature was the hidden compartment at the bottom which can be used to store dirty shoes, wet clothes or snacks. 'When I tell you I saw it from a mile away and was like "what is that?"' she said in a six-minute TikTok video. Halley was impressed by the carry bag designed with inner pockets, striped lining, short carry handles and adjustable shoulder strap.
'Kmart can't keep doing this to be because I'm literally going to go bankrupt ... my plan is to use it as a baby bag,' Halley said. The tote bag is large enough for the busy mum to carry water bottles, snacks, nappies, a change of clothes for her toddler and lunchboxes all day with ease.
The bottom compartment can also be used to store cool snacks with an icepack as it's lined with a plastic covering. The budget bag has also previously been compared to the Metro Weekender ($440) from travel brand Monos, which are both designed with the bottom compartment. The Kmart buy is made with polyurethane while the pricier version comes in multiple materials including vegan leather and nylon.
