Leighton Meester's Gossip Girl skit during SAG Awards leaves fans 'vindicated' over Blake Lively's downfall

Fans were delighted to see a mini Gossip Girl reunion between Kristen Bell, who hosted the Screenwriters Guild Awards on Sunday and narrated the teen drama, and Meester, who played Blair Waldorf, on their screens Sunday night, taking to social media to share their thoughts.

During Sunday's show, Bell's Gossip Girl narration voice came over the loudspeaker, commentating on the awards show. 'Hey everyone, Gossip Girl here. One of my sources, Lainey86, sends me this: Spotted, at table 8, Jeff Goldblum has a wicked appetite and a peek behind the curtain reveals he likes his green eggs with ham,' Bell, as Gossip Girl, said as the camera cut to Goldblum.

'And look who it is, not-so-lonely boy Timothée Chalamet sitting next to a hot steak, medium rare, au poivre, with a side of broccoli,' Bell continued, as Chalamet, 29, looked amused. The camera then cut to Bell, 44, who was crouched next to Meester's table, reading jokes off her phone.

'Leighton, none of this is gossip,' Bell says to Meester, 38. 'It's just all about food.'. The Gossip Girl alum responded by telling the award show host she's just 'really hungry' as she nibbled at a bread roll. Brody and Bell, who voiced Gossip GIrl in the teen drama, star in Netflix's Nobody Wants This. Fans took to social media to share their thoughts over the iconic and unexpected reunion. Netflix recently announced that Meester will appear in the second season of Nobody Wants This playing Bell's character Joanne's middle school nemesis, who she crosses paths with again.

Meester will star alongside her husband Adam Brody, who tied the knot in 2014. The couple share daughter Arlo, nine, and a four-year-old son whose name has not been made public. The couple usually keep their marriage out of the spotlight. But this awards season, they've been stepping out to attend the events where Adam has received accolades.
