They became the first and only girl group to win The X Factor - but it wasn't always smooth sailing for Little Mix. With members Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, the girl group is still regarded as one of the show's most successful winning acts. Their most popular songs include Power, Black Magic, Woman Like Me, Shout out to My Ex, Sweet Melody, Love Me Like You and Secret Love Song. However, those who remember their 2011 audience on The X Factor will know the girl group changed their name three times after facing a series of issues.

A statement on Digital Spy reads: "Little Mix infamously had to change their name half way through the live show stages of The X Factor back in 2011 from Rhythmix, after facing a legal challenge for the name from a charity. "However, did you know that that wasn't the first time the girl group had to switch their name during the competition, and that their original name had a very amusing but unintended risqué meaning?.

"After being put together during the Boot Camp stages of the contest, the girls were through to Tulisa's Judges' Houses under the guise of Infinite Bass." In an interview, Jesy and Perrie spoke about the issues they faced settling on a band name, with Jesy telling Digital Spy: "It's really frustrating because we changed it three times. "We were Infinite Bass and they were like, 'You've got to change it'." Perrie explained: "The producers asked, 'Have you seen what that means on Urban Dictionary?' and we were like, 'No'." Through fits of laughter, Jesy shared how the term means "everlasting orgasm" , adding: "I had shoes made with the name on and everything. I spent good money on them for Judges' Houses.".

After this, they were known as Rhythmix before being forced to change it again. Finally, they settled on Little Mix - and quickly became a household name under this moniker. However, not everyone likes their name, with one Reddit user claiming: "Little Mix is an awful name for a pop group.". Another user added: "It's great name for a selection box of Christmas chocolates, though. Roses, Quality Street, Heroes, Celebrations, Little Mix....see, it works!" A third user said: "The name sounds like something you'd call a small bag of Dolly Mixtures or an Aldi/Lidl variant.".
