Ranvir Singh is standing in for regular host Lorraine Kelly, who is currently taking a well-earned break for the festive period. On Tuesday's show (December 17), the former GMB political correspondent was chatting with fashion expert Mark Heyes and journalist Bryony Gordon about what they had coming up on the programme, when talk suddenly turned to Prince Andrew, who had reportedly decided not to join the Royal Family at Sandringham this Christmas.

The host explained it was now expected that Prince Andrew will "honourably withdraw" from Royal Family events at Christmas to avoid being a distraction. This is after Sarah Ferguson (Fergie) allegedly stepped in to advise the Duke of York to do the "gentlemanly thing".

It is understood that Prince Andrew will instead stay at home in Windsor on Christmas Day after he was allegedly linked to a Chinese spy, who has now been named in a High Court judgement. Yang Tengbo, also known as Chris Yang, had been banned from entering the UK.

In a statement on Monday, the Chinese businessman denied being a spy and said he had "done nothing wrong or unlawful". During the on-air chat, Ranvir couldn't seem to comprehend why Prince Andrew was having to dwell on stepping down from festive events with his family and insinuated that Fergie had been the force behind his decision.
