Lorraine Kelly didn't hold back her thoughts on Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria's decision to star in their own reality series, calling it "very strange". The 65-year-old Scottish TV favourite was chatting with showbiz guru Ross King and Woman and Home magazine's Editor Hannah Fernando on the show, as they dissected the new series.

Alec Baldwin, the Hollywood actor, has opened up his family life to the cameras for a fresh reality series titled The Baldwins, which will showcase him and Hilaria raising their brood of seven youngsters. The show is set to air on TLC in the US and Discovery+ in the UK.

The cameras also picked up Alec's reactions to his July 2024 trial following the 2021 shooting incident on the set of his film Rust. Alec discharged a gun which was being used a prop, which killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.

He was charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fatal shooting but it was dismissed by a judge in July last year. Talking about the new reality series on Tuesday's Lorraine, the Scottish host and Hannah took a peek at the first episodes to which they both seemed to think the series came off as a bit "tone deaf", with Lorraine succinctly branding it "very strange" in a two-word remark.

Leading the discussion, Lorraine exclaimed: "Ross, I find it utterly utterly bizarre", reports Bristol Live. To which Ross replied: "I'm not a fan of reality TV you know because I think the only thing that's real about it is the word real being in reality itself.".

Ross, who's no stranger to the world of celebrity, also chimed in: "I find it watchable but i'm still trying to figure out why they actually would do it? I think Alec comes out of it better that Hilaria but then he's a huge movie star and he's got charisma.".

Lorraine interjected, expressing her confusion over the tonal shifts in the show, saying: "Watching that and looking at that I just find the tone very strange. "You know one minute they're talking about... and there's kids running about... and there's plinky plonky music and it's all bedlam. Then they're talking about something so serious and so devastating.".

Hannah Fernando, Editor of Woman and Home magazine, further criticised the inconsistency, remarking: "That's the problem, it's tone deaf." She went on to say: "I think the whole thing because this is a reality show a fly on the wall documentary of their family.".
