Luke Littler has admitted that he dreams of owning his own football club. The teenage sensation, who has already amassed a fortune from his darts prowess - including clinching January's PDC World Championship - is considering investing in his local side Warrington Town. 'The Nuke' told the Daily Star: "It would be an investment for myself in the coming years. "I've got a local team. Warrington Town, who are in National League North... maybe that could be an idea for the future." At just 18, Littler - a die-hard Manchester United fan - isn't looking to splash all his winnings but rather start modestly with a club close to his heart.

If he goes ahead, he'll join the ranks of celebrities like Ryan Reynolds, who, along with Rob McElhenney, has turned Welsh team Wrexham's fortunes around, and sports stars Tom Brady and JJ Watt, who have stakes in Birmingham and Burnley. Littler, who is also a supporter of rugby league's Warrington Wolves, will see the team's stadium renamed the Luke Littler Stadium for their Super League opener against Catalans Dragons on February 21, where he'll be the guest of honour.

However, not everyone's throwing praise his way; darts legend Michael van Gerwen has criticised the young star for his tardiness at a Premier League media event in Belfast. Littler admitted to oversleeping due to a morning nap, which left his competitors hanging. Van Gerwen weighed in, saying: "They need to stop treating him as a baby. He's not a baby any more. It's a professional sport so you have to be responsible for your actions as well, simple as that.".

Littler will hope to use Van Gerwen's words to fuel him when he takes to the oche on Thursday evening to face the Dutchman on the opening night of Premier League Darts. It comes as the pair's third meeting in 2025 thus far, with Littler beating his opponent 7-3 in the final of the PDC World Championship in January, before defeating him 6-3 at the Dutch Darts Masters later in the month.
