Eamonn Holmes has spoken out for the first time since his GB News co-host Isabel Webster was replaced. The 41-year-old joined GB News in 2021 after moving from Sky News. She has worked with Holmes, 65, at both broadcasters and they have developed a firm friendship.

However, Ellie Costello will be taking over on GB News Breakfast five days a week, presenting alongside Holmes Monday – Wednesday and with Stephen Dixon on Thursday and Friday. Webster has not yet acknowledged the news on social media. However, Holmes has written a short message on X.

GBNUpdates wrote: ‘@IsabelWebster_ has also departed GB News. She presented her final Breakfast show alongside @EamonnHolmes this morning. GBN Updates wishes her the best for the future.’ Replying to the update, Holmes simply wrote: ‘Bye my girl x’.

In Webster’s most recent post on Instagram she told fans she was looking forward to the next year. ‘Final show from us for 2024. Thanks for your company this year. See you soon! Merry Christmas – I hope you all find some peace and joy,’ she wrote.

Some people have expressed disappointment at the news there will be a new presenter, with Alisybabe writing on her latest social media post: ‘The news we’re hearing is not good. Where will we see you ‘soon’??’. ‘Absolutely gutted you have been sacked by GB News. You were the best presenter on the channel 💔,’ commented InstaTerry.
