After arriving home to find her mom being assaulted, Lisa instinctively jumped into action.

'I was a kid still in school, coming home, and that was the first day that I knew that it was my dad,' she said. 'I walked in and, being a kid from Hell's Kitchen, we used to have a bat side of our door. So, when I walked in and I heard my mom whimpering, I'm like, "what the hell?".
