Cleaning the bathroom may not be the most thrilling task, but it's crucial to keep on top of it. Shower screens, sinks and toilets can all become covered in water and limescale marks, and if they've been building up for a while, they can be quite the nightmare to eliminate.
It's no secret that cleaning products can add up, particularly if you're using a variety to tackle the different tasks around your bathroom. However, experts have now revealed a very affordable alternative using a 1p kitchen scrap that many of us come across daily.

He says you can clean your entire bathroom with a single used tea bag, as they serve as a cost-effective, natural cleaning solution that many of us will already have at home, reports the Express. But if you don't, a pack of 240 from Asda will set you back £3.20 - making each one just over 1p.
"Don't throw away your used tea bags," Nigel advised. "Instead, set them aside and use them on your shower screens, taps and even your toilet for a streak-free shine.". Tea bags contain natural chemical compounds called tannins, which possess antibacterial and grease-cutting properties. These compounds aid in breaking down dirt, grime, and oily residue, making tea an effective natural cleaner.
He explained: "The tannins work to dissolve grease and lift dirt, leaving your surfaces streak-free and sparkling. It's an easy, eco-friendly way to maintain spotless windows without relying on any harsh chemicals.". This sustainable hack involved letting your tea bag cool after making a cuppa and using it to wipe down dirty surfaces. Once you're finished cleaning, you can even compost the used tea bags.
Not only does this method save money, but it also cuts down on waste, making it great for both your wallet and the planet. And it's not just your bathroom that will thank you; your kitchenware can too. Soaking pans with used tea bags in warm water makes them simpler to scrub by breaking up the grease.
Tea bags can add a shine to wooden furnishings when steeped in water and applied with a microfiber cloth - they do a great job of enhancing the woods natural hue while getting rid of dust. Plus, you can banish shoe odours overnight by popping in dry, old tea bags, turning them into a natural deodoriser.
