A new PlayStation State of Play presentation is incoming, and players are expecting a lot from Sony, who is expected to lay out the first half of PlayStation's 2025 today. It’s finally time! The first 2025 PlayStation State of Play presentation is on the way with a heap of secrets to reveal to players, unveiling a number of incoming games and important details before you can say “PlayStation has no games.” The news was announced yesterday, leading to an incredibly short-notice turnaround before the new showcase.
It’s safe to say that hopes are high – the State of Play September reveals came with massive announcements for Ghost of Yotei, Alan Wake 2’s Lake House DLC and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, which if it wasn’t clear, is massive. If Sony can come through with a similar sized announcement this evening, it’ll show players what they can expect from the company in 2025, and maybe even stop panicking about not having seen a new GTA 6 trailer yet.
Either way, there are announcements incoming for PlayStation users, and they’re hoped to illuminate the future of the PS5 – but you’ll need to know when and how you can tune in to watch the PlayStation State of Play February 2025 showcase before you can see them. Here’s everything you need to know. The start time for the PlayStation State of Play February 2025 event is set for 2pm PST / 5pm EST / 10pm GMT today on Wednesday, February 12. The showcase will be broadcast on YouTube and Twitch, in both English and Japanese.
Watch the February 2025 State of Play on YouTube. Watch the February 2025 State of Play on Twitch. We can expect the showcase to last for just over 40 minutes, and to focus on new games coming to the PS5. There is a notice on the blog post revealing the stream, though, that it may contain copyrighted content, so be careful if you're planning on streaming the event. As of right now, there isn’t a lot of information out there about what we can expect from the PlayStation State of Play February 2025 showcase, but there are a few leaks out there that could end up making an appearance. Spanish publication Vandal has claimed that a new multiplayer title by Bungie will get its reveal tonight. Codename Gummy Bears is expected to be a cheerful and lo-fi experience, that's survived major Bungie restructurings, so we may see that if the rumour proves to be true.
The PlayStation Store (via Gematsu on Twitter) also leaked that Level-5's Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time could be coming to PlayStation on April 23,2025 after previously only being announced for the Nintendo Switch. This nearby release paired with no official reveal from Level-5 could indicate that it'll appear at the showcase. When it comes to expectations of other titles, though, there are a lot of titles up in the air – much like Ghost of Yotei, which still doesn't have a release window. There is still no sign of the long-awaited Resident Evil 9, which has been rumoured to be coming for some time now, and fans of the survival horror franchise are hopeful that we’ll get to see some kind of teaser of things to come now that Resident Evil 4 has made its splash and Ethan Winters’ story has concluded.
We’re also still holding out for more information about Insomniac Games’ next project Marvel’s Wolverine, which is massively anticipated now that the dust has settled on Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and hopes for DLC have died down. Plus, as you can expect, there are still people hoping to see Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong and a Bloodborne remake. We don’t want to dull the spark of your hopes, but maybe water them down a bit.
