Paul Danan's final touching act of kindness has been revealed after his management announced he had passed away aged 46. The actor was best known for his role as Sol on the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, before appearing on the reality series Celebrity Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother.

Paul previously struggled with drug addiction, overdosing on heroin after returning from a stint in rehab, and in June he revealed that he was given CPR by his family after his 'obsessive' vape usage caused respiratory failure. He previously admitted his belief that he had spent 'around £1million' on rehab and recovery over the years.

After spending time in LA to become a Hollywood star, Paul spent his final years focusing on a cause very close to his heart - in a final touching act of kindness. In 2020 he set up free drama classes in Bristol for those with mental health issues and recovering from addiction under the name Morning After Drama.

He ran the sessions every week, also providing tailored workshops supporting prison leavers. In addition, Paul worked closely with the Amy Winehouse foundation from 2014 to 2020. Speaking to BBC Radio Bristol just last year, Paul revealed his belief that his efforts had 'changed lives' and said it was a better feeling than any of his major acting roles.
