Rita Ora appears to have revealed the reason behind her decision to leave The Masked Singer after five series. The pop star, 34, has been replaced by Maya Jama, who will join Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross, and Davina McCall on the panel. According to IMDB, Rita has a packed schedule for 2025, with roles in Tin Soldier, Descendants 5, He Bled Neon, and Voltron. She also played the Queen of Hearts in Disney's Descendants 4 this year.
Taking to Instagram, Rita has now further hinted at why she decided to leave the ITV show as she detailed her wishes for 2025. She said: "What’s your 2025 plan? Mines @typebea and music and being apart of the coolest films and spending time with family and friends and making the most of every moment. You?".
Typebea is the haircare brand Rita founded with beauty entrepreneur Anna Lahey earlier this year. It seems as though Rita could be putting all her focus into the beauty brand next year after leaving the Masked Singer behind her. Earlier this year, Rita also revealed she is working on a new album and heading out on tour. She told The Sun in July: “I’m definitely touring with this new record that I’m going to put out next year. I wanted to change it up. All the festivals I’ve been doing this summer have been so much fun. Getting to perform live is my favourite part. I hate the studio. I love seeing the crowd and I really connect with the energy. The tour is the only reason I put music out.”.
Meanwhile, her Masked Singer replacement Maya Jama recently shared her excitement about joining the show, saying: "I'm such a Masked Singer fan, so joining the panel alongside Davina, Jonathan, and Mo-and of course working with Joel-is going to be so much fun.
