SHOPPERS are flocking to get their hands on a Valentine's Day treat scanning for just £1.25. Asda's bakery is selling four love heart-shaped crumpets for the bargain price tag and customers are going wild for them. The items have been getting rave reviews on social media, with one post about them in the Facebook group Snack Reviews garnering more than 1,400 likes and 1,600 comments.
One commenter said: "How cute would the heart ones be for a snack!". Another added: "I think a love heart crumpet is something I need in my life.". A third commented: "Heart ones for vday we need.". And it's not just love hearts on offer - the supermarket has also created dinosaur-shaped crumpets perfect for kids.
Hundreds of parents posted on Facebook that their children would love the fun dinosaur snack. The love heart crumpets have been a recurring theme every Valentine's Day at Asda. When they were launched in 2018, a pack of four cost just £1, meaning it has risen by 25p in the past seven years.
The retailer recommends heating the crumpets under a grill or toasting in a toaster for 3-4 minutes for the best results. You can find your local Asda store by visiting the retailer's website and using its Store Locator tool: storelocator.asda.com. It comes as other retailers have been launching their own dine-in Valentine's Day meal deals.
M&S is offering a dine-in meal where shoppers can get a bougie starter, main, side, dessert and a bottle of Prosecco for £25, suitable for two people. Meanwhile, Aldi has launched the cheapest Valentine's Day meal on the market starting from just £2.99 per person, making it even cheaper than last year.
