The estranged wife of former NFL star Earl Thomas was arrested this week and accused of defrauding him out of $2.7million, according to a report. Nina Thomas, who filed for divorce from the Super Bowl-winning defensive back in 2020, is accused in court documents obtained by TMZ of beginning a plot to steal money from him the following year.
And according to the outlet, she was charged with multiple counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering and aggravated identity theft this week. Nina allegedly spent some of the millions she is said to have stolen on an Hermes Birkin handbag and breast implants.
She was taken into custody on December 16 before being released. Documents accuse Nina of working with another, unnamed person in defrauding Thomas and moving his money into their own bank accounts. Earl Thomas' wife filed for divorce from him in 2020 and is now accused of defrauding him.
She was previously arrested and booked for burglary of a residence with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Thomas, who last played in the NFL in 2019 for the Ravens, was arrested in 2022 for a violation of a protective order. Last year, Nina's boyfriend was arrested for stealing the NFL star's identity in an alleged $1.9million scam.
