A BBC Radio host has passed away, it's been announced. It's been announced today that Tim Jibson died, aged 76, earlier this month, with the news shared in an obituary for him. It states that he passed away "suddenly but peacefully" on February 9 whilst "surrounded by his loving family" after "the most wonderful day on holiday". The obituary this week adds that there will be a private service and cremation.
Tim began his career more than four decades ago and is known for having worked for the BBC. He was a radio host on BBC Radio Humberside for a number of years. Whilst at the station, which covers Humberside, he presented shows like the Paull Hunsley Electric Wireless Show.
Tim also interviewed the likes of the late Marc Bolan - who fronted the band T. Rex - in 1976 and the late Tammy Wynette in 1981 whilst working at BBC Radio Humberside. He also worked for independent radio station Beverley FM and Viking FM during his decades-long career in the industry.
The obituary released this week states that the late presenter is survived by his wife Ann Marie Jibson and his three children Michael Jibson, Paul Jibson and Lexi Jibson, as well as by his three grandchild. It adds that Tim was "a good friend to many" and that he will be "reunited with missed family members".
Tim's family includes his two sons, who are both actors. Michael - who is married to fellow actor Caroline Sheen - has appeared in TV shows such as ITV's Quiz and Netflix's Bodies over the years. He's also an Olivier Award winner for his performance as King George III in the original West End cast of Hamilton.
