Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has given fresh thoughts on the Gregg Wallace scandal, saying it'll be 'horrific' if the allegations against the MasterChef star are found to be true. Speaking to The Times, Kerridge, 51, who runs a string of successful foodie pubs including The Hand and Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, said that the food industry was all about making 'people feel comfortable'.

Wallace, 60, is currently under investigation over a string of allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour - including from Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark - and stepped down from hosting the hit BBC cooking show in November. When asked by Sky News to comment on the allegations back in early December, Kerridge, who's married to artist Beth Cullen Kerridge, told the broadcaster Wallace was 'always full of jokes and always full of charisma'.

Admitting he knew nothing about the allegations, he added: 'I've known him for a long time, I've always known him as a high energy person that's always got something to say that is fun and ongoing. I've enjoyed times when we've filmed together.'. However, Kerridge is now seemingly now distancing himself from the MasterChef presenter, telling The Times today: 'I don’t really know Gregg in terms of hanging out with him.'.

The Great British Menu judge said: 'If the accusations about Gregg Wallace are all found to be true, then it’s horrific. 'I work in a world where we try to make people feel comfortable, not uncomfortable.'. An investigation into allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour continues against MasterChef star Gregg Wallace; chef Tom Kerridge, who initially described Wallace as 'full of jokes and always full of charisma' when the allegations first came to light this week told The Times it will be 'horrific' if they're found to be true.
