PATRICK Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs star teammate Travis Kelce couldn't hold back their tears toward the end of their disappointing Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs were blown out by the Eagles by a score of 40-22 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Kansas City was cold from the get-go on offense, as Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions, including a pick-six, and got sacked three times in the first half.

They were held scoreless in the first 30 minutes and trailed 24-0 at halftime, and Kelce didn't even record a single catch in that span. Towards the end of the game, with the Chiefs trailing by more than 20 points at the time, Kelce was seen staring into space and in tears on the sidelines. Mahomes was also seen on the sidelines and appeared to be crying. NFL fans noticed the pair's emotions toward the end of the devastating loss.

"Sad for Trav, he looks devastated," one wrote. "Eagles are flying. Chiefs are crying," another commented. "Mahomes looks defeated," a third added. "Down goes Kelce and down goes Mahomes," a fourth stated. Kelce finished the day with four receptions for 37 yards. His last catch broke Jerry Rice's record for most receptions in Super Bowl history. Still, the Chiefs couldn't make history and win their third straight Super Bowl title in a row.

Philly sacked Mahomes six times and controlled the ball for 36 minutes. Jalen Hurts won MVP after he completed 17 of 22 passes for two touchdowns. He also tallied 11 carries for 72 yards and a score on the ground. During garbage time, Chiefs star rookie receiver Xavier Worthy caught two touchdowns. He ended the game with eight receptions for 157 yards. There will be questions about Kelce's future as there have been retirement rumors concerning the 35-year-old throughout the season.
