Yet amidst merry nuptials, darker elements have been simmering just beneath the surface, setting the stage for the seventh season with the ominous vanishing act of Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley). Another compelling subplot involved Mel's reunion with her biological father Everett Reid (John Allen Nelson), who serenaded the couple after recuperating from a heart attack.
