Wayne Rooney was unrecognisable as he transformed into Mrs Doubtfire for a date night with wife Coleen Rooney. The duo headed to the theatre to enjoy some quality time together. And as the pair went backstage at the even, they were able to try on some of the outfits, with former Manchester United star Wayne looking just the part.
Coleen took to Instagram shortly after the show to share snaps from their night as she wrote: "Really enjoyed the show... lots of laughs throughout!" She shared an image of her and Wayne standing in front of the theatre sign. Taking to her Stories she then uploaded a clip of Wayne, 39, in the Mrs Doubtfire face prosthetics and grey wig. She penned: "And lots of laughs afterwards!! @waynerooney.".
With Wayne's transformation on full show, Coleen can be heard laughing in the background while actors from the stage show were also seen giggling at the former sports star's new look. It comes after Wayne was sacked from his Plymouth Argyle managerial role earlier this month. He had been struggling to find form with the lowly Championship side. Following his sacking, the side went on to provide a shock in the FA Cup, beating Premier League outfit Brentford.
Coleen, meanwhile, has been rumoured to be lining up a new TV deal after her successful stint on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here. She has been linked to various TV projects and even a Netflix fly-on-the-wall reality series. She addressed the speculation as she teasingly told The Mirror last week: "You will be seeing a bit more of me." In the final of the ITV show, Coleen won an impressive 44.8% of the public vote.
