WETHERSPOONS is bringing back is Valentine's Day meal deal for two. Love birds have a chance to pick up a bargain two-course meal for just £25. If you are splitting the bill it means you both pay £12.50. Last year, the no-frills boozer raised the price of the deal by £3, sparking fury from customers. Wetherspoons has been running its Valentine's meal deal since 2018, when it was priced at £20. The deal includes two main meals, two desserts and two drinks.

For an extra £5 you can upgrade to a bottle a Prosecco, bringing the total cost of the offer to £30. Wetherspoons said a handful of its 900 plus pubs are not participating in the offer. So if you are keen to bring a special someone down to Spoons for a romantic meal, it may be checking with your local branch ahead of time to avoid disappointment. You can find your nearest branch by visiting the JD Wetherspoon website and clicking on the "Find a Pub" button.

Also the menu may vary from pub to pub, with the firm asking customers to see the Valentine’s menu in their pub of choice to see what's on offer. Last year, the menu had boasted a gourmet 8oz sirloin steak with peas, tomato, mushroom, three onion rings and a steak sauce. Punters could also pick up a mixed grill - gammon, pork loin, rump, lamb, sausage, peas, tomato, mushroom. There were also lots of options for veggies including Pasta Alfredo and roasted cauliflower and spinach curry.

Desserts included everything from a chocolate brownie to a cookie dough sandwich. You can pair your meal with an alcoholic or soft drink and there is more than 150 to choose from. The Sun will update this piece with the updated menu once we hear back from Spoons. Its worth noting this offer will only be available tomorrow, February 14, which is Valentine's Day. If you don't fancy heading out for the romantic holiday, a number of supermarkets are offering dine-in ready meal deals.

Ahead of the big day on February 14, many grocers now launch dine-in deals which give customers a chance to enjoy a fancy dinner for a bargain price. Tesco is offering shoppers the chance to pick up a ready-made two-course meal with a side and drink for just £12. This increases to £18 if you want to add a starter. Meanwhile, Co-op said couples or friends have a chance to pick up a main, side and a bottle of booze for £10.

Up for grabs is a Chicken Parmigiana, and shoppers could pair that with some of Co-op's triple-cooked chips and wash it down with a bottle of prosecco. Co-op said it gives customers the chance to save up to £8.85 if they buy the items individually. Also, it is worth noting that if you want to enjoy the offer for £10 you will need to become a Co-op member. This can be done online and it costs £1. The Sun recently reviewed all of major supermarkets dine in deals, which you can check out here.

ADELE Cooke, a senior consumer reporter at The Sun, explains how to save money on Valentine's Day. If you're not careful Valentine's Day can end up hitting your wallet. I explain how to avoid the traps. AVOID THE SET MENU. As February 14 falls on a Friday this year, consider going out for a meal on Saturday instead. This is because many restaurants insist that you must order a set menu on Valentine's Day, which can be very expensive.

Usually this is not the case on other days. Some of the set menu items may also be on the regular dinner menu, so you can still order them without paying a premium. LOVE IS...FINDING A DISCOUNT CODE. If you do want to go out for dinner on Valentine's Day then look for restaurant deals on The Fork. This website shows you all the restaurants with special offers and deals in your area. If you're eating in this year, you could save money with one of the dine-in-for-two options above.

Check the individual cost of each item in the deal to ensure you're making the biggest saving. Keep an eye out for discounts and vouchers in the run up to February 14. Some companies run special promotions in the lead up to the big day. Check websites such as Groupon, which offers special dining options or experiences. DON'T OVERSPEND. It can be easy to fall into the trap of overspending when it comes to spoiling a loved one.
