If you are splitting the bill it means you both pay £12.50. Last year, the no-frills boozer raised the price of the deal by £3, sparking fury from customers. Wetherspoons has been running its Valentine's meal deal since 2018, when it was priced at £20. The deal includes two main meals, two desserts and two drinks.

For an extra £5 you can upgrade to a bottle a Prosecco, bringing the total cost of the offer to £30. Wetherspoons said a handful of its 900 plus pubs are not participating in the offer. So if you are keen to bring a special someone down to Spoons for a romantic meal, it may be checking with your local branch ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
