As the festive season approaches, the UK’s television schedule is packed with an array of holiday specials. This year's schedule promises a wealth of variety and will hopefully be the perfect time to bring the family together. From gripping soap storylines to the usual comedies such as Mrs Brown's Boys, there’s something to keep everyone entertained during the winter break.

Here’s a closer look at seven unmissable TV treats with a plus a special mention of the beloved Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special which will conclude this year with it's final episode.
Where to Watch: BBC One, 5:10PM. Doctor Who returns on Christmas Day for another nail-biting special. Kicking off in a war-torn Manchester hotel in 1940 to the Orient Express travelling across Italy in 1962, the Doctor is determined to deliver a thrilling ride of highs and lows. The festive edition of the fantasy saga, starring Ncuti Gatwa and Nicola Coughlan, will see the pair encounter a wrong turn on their travels, and later, they discover danger and dinosaurs.
Where to Watch:BBC One, 9:00 PM. Get ready for some festive creativity as celebrity contestants join the sewing challenge. In this special, four stars try their hand at holiday-inspired designs, showcasing their talent (or lack thereof) in a warm and entertaining setting. Hosted by Sara Pascoe, with judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young, this special is packed with laughter, creativity, and festive spirit.
