She's best known for her tumultuous relationship with Mick Jagger throughout the late sixties. The late Marianne Faithfull started dating the rocker in 1996, however the romance had a detrimental effect on her life after the pair parted ways. The singer said of the relationship: 'It almost destroyed me. Although it was wonderful. I don't think I fit into that life or what he wanted in a woman, that's all. I couldn't do it.'.
However Mick wasn't the only man to find love with the As Tears Go By hit maker who passed away on Thursday aged 78. Marianne was also married three times and also enjoyed a 15 year relationship with her 'soulmate' Francois Ravard. And as tributes pour in for the late star, MailOnline takes a look back at her rollercoaster of a love life. From 1966 to 1970, Marianne was in a highly-publicised on-and-off relationship with Sir Mick following his split from model and actress Chrissie Shrimpton.
Marianne's earliest known relationship was with American singer-songwriter Gene Pitney. She revealed had an abortion early in 1965, after she became pregnant with Gene's child on a UK tour. Marianne married her boyfriend and art student John Dunbar in May 1965. They met at a Cambridge Valentine's Ball when Marianne was just 16 and went on to welcome their son Nicholas in November 1965. Discussing their relationship, the singer said: 'It was magic like a whole door had opened up to this world.'. Marianne wanted John to stay at Cambridge so she could live out 'the scholar's wife life' admitting 'I would have loved it'.

Marianne reportedly began her romance with the rocker in 1966, after her hit song As Tears Go By, which was co-written by Mick and his bandmate Keith Richards, was released in 1964. The relationship only lasted four years but it had a cataclysmic effect on Marianne's life. Marianne said: 'I left everything for Mick, completely gave all my intelligence and innate grasp of the world to him. I went too far as usual.'.
She was famously found wearing nothing except a rug at an infamous drugs bust at Rolling Stones guitarist Richards' country house, Redlands, in 1967. Marianne said: 'It was meant to be a lovely weekend taking acid with my friends. Which it was until 24 cops walked in.'. The group were busted by 19 police officers, Keith and Mick faced prison sentences but Marianne came off the worst. Marianne was reportedly taking a bath when the raid happened, so she grabbed a fur blanket to cover herself. The media branded her 'the naked girl in the fur blanket'.

I was destroyed by the very thing that enhanced them.'. 'I thought, right, you've cast me like this. I'm going to go for it. To hell with you all.' Marianne spiralled. After moving in with Mick, in 1968 Marianne found out she was pregnant but tragically experienced a miscarriage at seven months - they had planned to name their daughter Corrina.
