Egypt have been draw in Group B alongside South Africa, who finished third a year ago, and Angola, who were narrowly beaten in the quarter-finals.
Nigeria will be eyeing a first AFCON title since 2013 and they will start that campaign with an opening Group B match against Tanzania.
Defending champions Ivory Coast and Cameroon will face each other in Group F, where both will be confident of finishing above Gabon and Mozambique.
