Alejandro Garnacho has returned to Ruben Amorim's matchday squad after being omitted against Man City on Sunday. The Argentine is included on the bench for Man United's away Carabao Cup clash with Tottenham on Thursday night. Captain Bruno Fernandes and Antony start in the No 10 positions behind in-form Rasmus Hojlund.
However, United wantaway Marcus Rashford has been once again been axed from the squad, not even travelling with the group to north London. The Red Devils, who take on Spurs in a crucial quarter-final after triumphing 2-1 over rivals Manchester City on Sunday, are set to be without their highest earner again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The £375,000-a-week star announced on Monday that he is ready for a 'new challenge' away from United after two decades at the club, just a day after being left out of his side's dramatic derby win over City. Alejandro Garnacho returns to United's bench but there is no room for Rashford in the squad.
Garnacho was dropped for Sunday's Manchester derby due to his poor performance in training. Ruben Amorim is seeking his third straight win in all competitions against Tottenham tonight. Sunday's match-winner Amad Diallo has been demoted to the bench, likely earning a rest ahead of United's home game against Bournemouth on Sunday.
Altay Bayindir steps in for Andre Onana, making just his fourth start in a United shirt since joining in summer 2023. Meanwhile, Amorim made two change in his back three ahead of the Turkish shot stopper. Matthijs de Ligt did not travel with the squad, while Harry Maguire is dropped to the bench.
