However, the caller insisted she was genuine, instructing Molly to check her Amazon account's basket for the receipt of an iPhone 16 order.
Molly was told "not to worry" and that her Amazon account would need to be shut down, which required a "one-time code" sent via text message.
Molly explained that she received a phone call from what appeared to be a call centre, where a woman claimed to be from the Amazon fraud team.
"So I went into my account and basket and there was no order there," Molly continued.
