Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo has blamed a dodgy croissant sandwich after he threw up on the sidelines during this week's Peach Bowl. But the 22-year-old claimed the disgusting act was the spark which allowed him to inspire a remarkable Sun Devils comeback against Texas.
Arizona State lost a 39-31 overtime thriller despite fourth-quarter heroics from Skattebo - who finished fifth in last month's Heisman Trophy voting. The running back threw one touchdown and ran for two more scores just minutes after 'vomiting profusely' on the bench.
On Thursday, Skattebo explained what caused his illness, telling the Dan Patrick Show: 'I think I was drinking a little too much Powerade and water. 'At the same time, I think I ate something bad in the morning. I had a croissant sandwich, and I don’t think it went down very well.

'I wasn’t feeling good leading up to the game, until I threw up… I felt like a completely different person. After that, the game switched for me.'. Midway through the fourth quarter, Skattebo and Arizona finally managed to get their first touchdown on the board.
