ARSENAL are stepping up their interest in Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich, reports in Germany say.
But an extension has not been ruled out completely with Bayern said to still want to keep Kimmich - who can also play at right-back.
Bayern are top by eight points and travel to Stuttgart next - but Kimmich is ruled out due to a hamstring problem.
Kimmich's future in Munich is in question following speculation that the Bundesliga leaders withdrew a contract extension.
Arsenal have been linked with Kimmich for over a year now - with Germany team-mate Kai Havertz rumoured to have helped in talks.
