Mikel Arteta admitted he was “absolutely fuming” over the decision to send Myles Lewis-Skelly off in Arsenal’s win over Wolves. The teenager was shown a straight red card before a half-time for a trip on Matt Doherty, with referee Michael Oliver deeming it to be serious foul play and VAR then confirming that decision.
Wolves had a man dismissed themselves, when Joao Gomes picked up a second yellow card with 20 minutes remaining, and Riccardo Calafiori then fired in a brilliant winner for the Gunners. Asked for his opinion on the Lewis-Skelly red card, Arteta told Sky Sports: “It is that clear that I leave it to you guys.
