Arsenal have jetted off to Dubai for a warm weather training as Mikel Arteta bids to turn his side's fortunes around. The Gunners were dumped out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night by Newcastle, having fallen in the third round of the FA Cup to Manchester United back at the start of January. The Middle East camp comes ahead of what is now a crucial run-in, if Arteta is to win the first piece of silverware since his first season in charge. He has been handed a double injury boost for the camp, in what is welcome news.

Elsewhere, the Spaniard turned down the chance to comment on Alexander Isak after the Gunners target ran Arteta's side ragged on Wednesday. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Arsenal news. Bukayo Saka and Ben White have joined Arsenal's squad for their Dubai training camp as they step up their recoveries from injury. Saka has been recovering from a hamstring injury while White has been absent since undergoing a procedure on his knee in November.

With no game until 15 February, Mikel Arteta has opted to take his side away to the Middle East for a warm weather training camp. Both Saka and White were pictured walking out to the plane for the trip on Thursday. The duo will continue their rehabilitation from their injuries while on the training camp. Saka sustained his injury during the 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace and is expected to return in March. White meanwhile last played on 10 November in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

Isak has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners. And he showed exactly why they want him with his performance on Wednesday, scoring once as he was named Player of the Match. But Arteta was not comfortable answering questions about his top target.

Arteta said: "I’m not here to evaluate opposition players but it’s clear that he had two actions to finish and you know what happened.". Jamie Carragher has called for David Raya to be 'banned' from playing risky passes into Arsenal's midfielders. Raya endured a difficult night as Arsenal were beaten by Newcastle in the Carabao Cup. A mistake from the Spaniard directly led to the Magpies' second goal. Raya was looking to start play from the back and opted to pass straight to Declan Rice, who had Newcastle players pressing high and breathing down his neck.

Rice was caught in possession by Fabian Schar, whose tackle left Anthony Gordon with the simple task of slotting home. Carragher slammed Raya's decision-making after the game as he tweeted: "Keepers need to be banned from playing those passes into midfield players.".
