The 71st BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 17 December live from MediaCityUK in Salford. And the six nominees include Jude Bellingham, Luke Littler, Joe Root, Sarah Storey, Alex Yee and Keely Hodgkinson. England goalkeeper Mary Earps won the award in 2023, but there will be a new name on the trophy this year with Hodgkinson the leading contender.

Hodgkinson, 22, triumphed at the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning gold in the 800m in the Stade de France. It was Team GB's first Olympic track title since Mo Farah's 5,000m and 10,000m double in Rio in 2016, and capped off a sensational season in which she also retained her 800m title at the European Championships.

She could become the fourth woman in a row to claim the SPOTY award following Emma Raducanu in 2021 and Lionesses Beth Mead and Mary Earps in 2022 and 2023. William Hill £60 welcome bonus. Teenage sensation Luke Littler is next in the betting markets at 12/5.
