The upcoming crime thriller Virdee is on its way but when does the drama come out?. The series follows Detective Harry Virdee (played by Starz Nair), who is trying to reconnect with his Sikh family after they disowned him for marrying a Muslim woman. As he grapples with personal issues, Virdee also faces challenges at work as he investigates a serial killer targeting Bradford's Asian community. The six-part drama Virdee is set to premiere on Monday, February 10, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with new episodes released weekly at the same time.
However, fans eager to binge-watch can access all six episodes from February 10 vis the streamer BBC iPlayer. Leading the cast as Detective Harry Virdee is actor Staz Nair, known for his role as Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) bodyguard Qhono in the iconic HBO drama Game of Thrones. He has also appeared in Rebel Moon: Part One: A Child of Fire, Humans, Supergirl, and The Faceless Lady. Virdee's wife Saima is played by actress Aysha Kala, known for her roles in Criminal Record, Shameless, and Indian Summers.
Joining the cast are Ridley actor Danyal Ismail and Waterloo Road's Elizabeth Berrington, who will be playing DS Amin and DS Clare Conway respectively. As his young son starts to question his heritage, Virdee feels it's time to mend fences with his family who disowned him for marrying a Muslim woman.
He also has the task of tracking down a serial killer who has abducted a local police chief's son, leading him to seek help from his brother-in-law, the head of the UK's largest drug cartel. But will this assistance truly lead to the capture of the killer or will it cause more damage?. The series is based on the best-selling novels by British-Asian author AA Dhand, with the theme tune crafted by renowned composer Hans Zimmer and film composer James Everingham.
