Beyoncé is ‘staying by’ husband Jay-Z’s side after he was accused of drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 along with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. The Texas Hold ‘Em hitmaker has put her support behind her husband — who denies the allegations — but is ‘heartbroken’ by the alleged victim’s age.
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, is accused of sexually assaulting her at the MTV Video Music Awards after-party 24 years ago in a lawsuit filed by the unnamed woman’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee. The judge presiding over the case recently ruled that the accuser’s anonymity would not be waived after Carter’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, filed a motion to do so.
Beyoncé, 43, has not publicly spoken about the allegations and instead has focused on their daughter Blue Ivy’s film debut and her own halftime show performance. ‘She 1,000 percent believes him,’ an insider told The Daily Mail. ‘But it is very stressful to deal with, not only because everything is such in the public eye, but as a mother of a daughter at a similar age to the accuser at the time, it is heartbreaking.’.
The insider claimed this situation is harder for the Blackbird singer as the family carefully controls their public image and chooses what to share with the world. They continued: ‘It is a struggle to deal with and for her to try to think on ways to help the situation is tiring, especially when she can only literally do a certain amount things that may sway public perception.
